1st Jams: The top 10 songs for the month of February

Welcome to the concluding episode of 1st Jams for the month of February. You can check out previous episodes for the month here.

The music industry is gradually garnering momentum as several singles were released this month. In fact, some artistes dropped their music projects, while others teased that their new album is about to be released.

Earlier in the month, Joeboy released his debut studio album titled, Somewhere between Beauty & Magic, the project immediately became a sensation following its release.

On Friday, February 26, Nigerian recording artiste ,Ric Hassani released his sophomore album, The Prince I Became.

Introducing the album to the world, Ric wrote on social media;

I put out my first album four years ago. Since then, so much has happened in my life. These songs, have been my peace, my joy, my anger, my therapy, my calm, my vex, my pain, my comfort, now it’s time for them to be yours. The Prince I Became Album, February 26th, I love you.”

The most single off the album is ‘Thunder fire you’. 

 It will be a follow-up to his debut, Perfect Gentleman.

1. Ric Hassani- Thunder fire you

For the second week running, Ric Hassani’s lead single ‘Thunder fire you’re has retained number 1 spot on 1st Jams.

The single is off his album, Prince I Became.



2. Johnny Drille- bad dancer

Mavins recording artiste, Johnny Drille has announced that his debut studio album is ready for release. He has released a new single off the music project.



3. DJ Cuppy x Fireboy- feel good

DJ Cuppy worked with YBNL’s Fireboy on the single, ‘Feel good’



4. Rexxie x Mohbad- ko po ke (KPK)

Rexxie and Mohbad of Naira Marley’s label, Marlian records have released the music video for the street anthem, Ko Po Ke. 



5. Tekno x Jim Iyke- Designer

Veteran Nollywood actor, Jim Iyke appeared in Tekno’s music video, ‘Designer’

6. Banky W- Final Say

Earlier in the week, Nigerian recording artiste, Banky W announced the arrival of his first child with his wife, Adesua Etomi. Although they revealed that they delivered a son about two weeks ago, the announcement didn’t come in till Monday, February 22.

Banky W has now released a son titled, ‘Final say’ to reflect on his journey into fatherhood and also show gratitude for the new phase in his life.



7. Kizz Daniel- Flex

Kizz Daniel recently released single, ‘flex’ is coming several weeks after he revealed that he was seriously Ill.



8. Mavins x Rema x Don Jazzy- Bounce

For the first time ever, Mavins Records head honcho, Don Jazzy featured on a song with his protege, Rema.

The single, ‘Bounce’ is reminiscent of Don Jazzy’s works with former Mavins act, Wande Coal.



9. L.A.XSempe

Rasaki Music head honcho, L.A.X has released the official music video for  “Sempe“, a record produced by Clemzy. The video was directed by Perlicks Definition.

“Sempe” serves as the 5th record on his highly praised debut album tagged, “Zaza Vibes.”



10. Sammy Davids- Tungolo

Afrobeats singer, Sammy Davids makes a return with a new tune titled “Tungolo” which is optimized to get you on your feet dancing and whining within minutes.
