
Prominent Nigerian Afrobeat singer, Seun Kuti narrowly missed out in the world music category at the 2019 Grammy awards. The award took place in Los Angeles.
The 36-year-old son of late Fela Kuti narrowly lost to Justice in the ‘World Music Award’ category.

His 2018 album, ”Black Times”, got nominated in the category; but lost out to South Africa’s Soweto Gospel Choir who grabbed their third Grammy Awards for the album ”Freedom”.

The category that had the likes of Bombino from Niger, Mali’s Fatoumata Diawara and Soviet’s Yiddish Glory.
