Adeyanju warns El-Rufai to allow OBIdient movement hold march in Kaduna

Deji Adeyanju, a well-known public pundit, on Monday, August 15, 2022 requested that Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai instruct his supporters to permit opposition groups to hold their rally “in peace.”

El-Rufai had made fun of Peter Obi’s followers for their intention to stage a “two-million-man march” in the state.

Nearly six months remain before the 2023 national elections; Obi’s supporters have been holding marches to rally support for the former governor of Anambra State.

Also, recently, there were marches in Cross River State and Nasarawa State in support of the Labour Party’s presidential candidate.

El-Rufai, however, expressed his expectation that 200 persons could be gathered by Obi’s supporters in Kaduna for the march. According to the Kaduna governor, they can only get the figure they are projecting by “importing” people to the state.

Adeyanju, who was unimpressed with the governor’s tweet responded on his known social media handle.

“Dear elRufai, please, warn your supporters in Kaduna who might see your tweet of mockery against the Obidients and become tempted to attack them not to do so. Let them hold their 100million man march in peace. Thanks!,” Adeyanju said.

According to Adamu Garba, a presidential candidate and member of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC); Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s nominee, may not categorically refer to the outlawed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) as a terrorist organization; particularly out of concern that it might hurt his chances of winning the 2023 election.

Critics have charged Obi of being silent regarding the actions of the outlawed group.

That is untrue, according to his running companion Datti Baba-Ahmed; who has publicly said that the former governor of Anambra State does not back the leading pro-Biafra movement.

Nonetheless, Garba berated the former Anambra State Governor for being quiet about the group’s atrocities.

In fact, in a tweet issued on Sunday, Garba said; “To disprove Miyetti Allah, Peter Obi should go to Arewa House, organize a media conference & categorically call IPOB as terrorist that they are, like all senior political leaders from the North called Boko Haram and Bandits as terrorist.

“Alas, he may not do that. Don’t blame them.”
