Aisha Buhari movie set to debut on Africa Magic

A Multichoice-owned TV channel, Africa Magic is considering making a film on the life of Aisha Buhari, Nigeria’s first lady.

Busola Tejumola who is the  MultiChoice Nigeria’s Executive Head of Content and West Africa Channels made this known during a two-day Africa Magic content marketplace in Kano.

According to Tejumola, the initiative will provide an opportunity for Northern Nigeria to tell its stories.

He said; “Africa Magic, the MultiChoice-owned movie and general entertainment channel group dedicated to telling African stories, is considering making a biopic of Mrs. Aisha Buhari, the wife of President Muhammadu Buhari.

“Africa Magic is committed to supporting producers to tell authentic stories by providing the platform and training support.”

Aisha Buhari won’t be the first political figure to get a biopic if the project pulls through. Earlier, it became public knowledge that a biopic on Yahaya Bello, Kogi governor, will debut in December.

Seun Oloketuyi, the producer of the movie touted as an analysis of the governor’s life; had said it will feature Ali Nuhu as Bello as well as Roseanne Chikwendu as Rashidat, the governor’s wife.

In other news, the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) will launch the eNaira, its digital currency, in a couple of days from now.

This was disclosed by the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Godwin Emefiele.

Emefiele made this known at a news conference on Thursday, October 7, 2021. He stated that the launch of the eNaira would make Nigeria one of the first countries in Africa; and indeed the globe, to adopt the digitization of its national currency.

Emefiele had earlier stated that the eNaira would operate as a wallet against which customers could hold existing funds in their bank accounts. Further, he had disclosed that this would accelerate financial inclusion and enable cheaper and faster remittance inflows.
