Alicia Keys urges #EndSARS protesters not to give up

Alicia Keys has admonished #EndSARS protesters not to give up regardless of the roadblock they might have met in recent days.

Equally important, Alicia Keys is an American singer-songwriter and keyboardist. Amid the ongoing agitation to end police brutality and extrajudicial killing in the country, the songstress has been outspoken.

In fact, she debuted a song several weeks ago to urge Nigerians and other African nations never to give in to defeat despite the onerous events in various parts of the continent.

The award-winning artiste sent the strong motivational message to Nigerians after widespread reports of brutality and extrajudicial killings before and during protests against bad governance and poor policing system in Nigeria.

However, after the protests were hijacked by thugs and what was described as “lack of empathy from Aso Rock”; some Nigerians took to social media to express their desires to seek greener pastures in other countries.

But Alicia Keys recently used her platform to tell them not to lose focus and stay hopeful of a better Nigeria that they desired.

Here is her message to Nigeria;

“We are the people⁣⁣
We are the power⁣⁣
Yes, we are who we need ⁣⁣
We are showing up⁣⁣.
Police brutality is a global pandemic ⁣⁣
And we won’t accept it or normalize it⁣⁣”

She continued;

The mentality that allows it to exist must be deconstructed ⁣⁣
We will reimagine ⁣⁣
And recreate the world around us⁣⁣
We are the people⁣⁣
We are the power⁣⁣
Indeed, we are who we need ⁣⁣
My love goes out to #Nigeria #America and everywhere in the world that is fighting to change the systems designed to oppress!”
