
Former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar has appointed former Senate President Bukola Saraki and six others as Special Advisers in his Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential campaign team.
Atiku disclosed this in a statement by his Media Adviser, Mr Paul Ibe in Abuja on Monday, September 26, 2022.
He added that the appointments were aimed at strengthening the team.
“Saraki is appointed as Special Envoy to the PDP presidential candidate, while Sen. Anyim Pius Anyim is appointed as Special Adviser.
“Others appointed as Special Advisers are Sen. Ibrahim Shekarau; former Gov. Olagunsoye Oyinlola of Osun and Sen. Ehigie Uzamere.
“Former PDP National Chairman, Mr Uche Secondus has also been appointed as a Technical Adviser to the presidential candidate,” he said.

Atiku said that all the appointments took immediate effect.
He charged the appointees to use their vast political experiences in ensuring that the PDP presidential campaign recorded resounding success in the 2023 election.
Meanwhile, the Bayelsa State Governor, Duoye Diri has expressed optimism that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) will overcome its current crisis and go on to win the 2023 elections.
The Governor said Nigerians have had a taste of both the PDP and the All Progressives Congress (APC); adding that they are better informed to make the right choice.
Speaking on Sunday during an interdenominational church service organised by the state government to mark Nigeria’s 62nd independence; as well as the 26th anniversary of the creation of Bayelsa State; Governor Diri described the current challenge rocking the PDP as a storm which would pass without destroying the ship.

Represented at the service held in the government house chapel by his Deputy, Senator Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo; Governor Diri said the storm is only shaking the boat of the PDP, but the party will get to its destination successfully.
Diri said the “shaking of the water in the river that will not stop the boat from getting to its destination”.
The Governor added that “The most important question is, is there a competent captain and a functional radar? The PDP ship will definitely get to its destination. By God’s grace and the support of well-meaning people of our country, we are going to win convincingly.”
