Isilomo and Avala’s BBNaija eviction
Isilomo and Avala were the first housemates to be evicted from the competition. Their elimination stunned the fans due to the methodology applied. They were evicted due to the low amount of Bet9ja coins they were able to garner.
Viewers at home called out the organizers on social media. According to some internet users, their eviction was considered too early and it was not determined by the audience. Some even thought their elimination was a plot twist in the competition.
Unfortunately, they were out too soon.
Despite the outcry by fans worldwide, the two housemates apparently never returned to the competition.
2. Will a lady finally rule Biggie’s House?
The clamour for a female winner by viewers on the internet has broken through the ceiling. Every lady on social media especially members of the Feminist movement desire a female winner.
We would wait until BBNaija covener, Ebuka Obi-Uchendu announces the winner on Sunday night. Mercy is the last woman standing in the house alongside four other men.
Within a space of 72 hours, Mercy saw three other ladies receive their marching orders from the competition.
Tacha, who was one of the most popular housemates in the competition was disqualified on Friday, September 27. This came days after another lady Cindy was evicted.
On Monday, September 30, Diane was the last housemate to be kicked out of the competition. Her elimination remains one of the most questionable moments of Biggie’s reality show.
1st News can report that a total of 14 female housemates qualified for the event.
Was this a strategic move by the organizers?
Nevertheless, it hardly matters. Women across the globe want to see a fellow lady win the competition. Celebrities such as Dencia, Rita Dominic, Anita Joseph and several others are backing Mercy to emerge victorious.
3. Did Tacha flaw the ‘mean girl’ script?
On Friday, September 27, one housemate turned the world upside down and inside out. Indeed, she wore the garment of chaos and fury. Her name is Tacha, the leader of the stan, Titans.
Every year in the Big Brother competition, there is always a young lady who plays the pompous and stern role. We saw TBoss become the epitome of pride and lofty housemate. She played the role fascinatingly well during the 2017 BBNaija See Gobe season.
Enter Cee C who took the standoffish persona to a new level. She finished as the runner-up during the 2018 BBNaija Double Wahala season.
In 2019, before Tacha wore the mean-girl embodiment completely, other housemates tried to wear the garment. But it didn’t fit. Kim Oprah and Thelma tried to play the manipulative card. Unfortunately, they all went home too early.
She had two strikes, always the heartbeat of chaos in the house. However, she provided content. She is the housemate everyone loved to hate. Her cockiness is undoubtedly what everyone detested.
Unfortunately, her luck ran out last Friday when she was shockingly disqualified from the competition (You can read the story here).
It is uncertain if BBNaija organizers will resurrect the script in 2020.
It would be fascinating to see the masterminds behind the reality show create another ideology of a strong African woman.
4. A social experiment or a platform for pornography
Nigeria is a conservative nation with moralistic ideologies. According to the Director-General of NCAC, Olusegun Runsewe, Big Brother Naija show is a distraction to the Nigerian youth.
In his words, ‘we should realise that this is our country. We don’t celebrate immorality, nudity and so on.
To put it clearly, what we are after is the content of that programme. Personally, what I’m unhappy about is the content which encourages immorality.’
Also, a lot of religious sect and moral bodies have requested for the nullification of the show. The show has been received with mixed reactions in this part of the world.
5. Did the plot twist narrative work out as planned?
Viewers have been able to recognize loopholes in the BBNaija competition. It was speculated by viewers that the organizers of the show deployed a plot twist when they realized the competition was out of content.
Some viewers claim the Pepper Dem season was mumbled up due to lack of creativity and spontaneity.
The allegations became apparent on Monday, September 30 following Diane’s elimination from the competition. Her eviction received the critical treatment, everyone questioned the idiosyncrasy of the show.
Like everything else in life, all good things must come to an end at different stages in life. It is day 99 and it is time for Biggie to hum the sound of victory.
