Beyonce: Nigerians react to African-flavored album


American songstress, Beyonce has released her long-anticipated album Lion King on Friday, July 19. Significantly, it features some of the most talented singers across the continent.


As a matter of fact, six Nigerian musicians featured on the Lion King project.


They include Wizkid, Tiwa Savage, Yemi Alade, Tekno, Burna Boy and Mr Eazi. Furthermore, Ghanaian Reggae singer, Shatta Wale featured along with other African heavyweights.

The album, Lion King: The Gift, is a collection of music inspired by the 2019 remake of the classic Disney movie ‘Lion King.’


Specifically, Wizkid featured on a song titled, ‘Brown Skin Girl,’ alongside Beyonce’s first child, Blue Ivy Carter, Beyonce, and Saint Jhn.

Further, Mr Eazi, Yemi Alade, Burna Boy, Tiwa Savage, and Tekno all give a very interesting mix to the album. They sing in different languages about embracing blessings in ‘JA ARA E,’ ‘DONT JEALOUS ME‘ and ‘KEYS TO THE KINGDOM.’
