
A bill for the legalisation and usage of non-toxicant cannabis plants for medical and scientific research is presently before the House of Representatives.
1st News can report that the bill has already passed the second reading.
Specifically, this was disclosed by Dr. Tonye Jaja Clinton, a legal practitioner. Dr. Clinton made this known during a media parley in Abuja on the benefits and opportunities of cannabis plants. He said once the bill becomes law, Nigeria has a lot to gain economically.
Equally important, the bill was sponsored by Princess Miriam Onuoha, representing Okigwe North of Imo State.

Meanwhile, a 10-year-old boy was reportedly among those killed in the unrest over the viral #EndSARS protest in Ogbomoso, Oyo State.

Equally important, 1st News had reported that the agitations by aggrieved Nigerian youths over the excesses of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) which resulted in the ongoing #EndSARS protest has taken on a vicious turn in Ogbomoso.
On Sunday, rampant youths had allegedly vandalized the palace of a traditional ruler, the Soun of Ogbomoso. The youths, believed to be part of the #EndSARS protesters, had turned out in their numbers. They had visited the palace of the Soun of Ogbomoso, Oba Jimoh Oyewumi Ajagungbade, over the death of Isiaka Jimoh who was allegedly shot by a SARS official on Saturday.
The youths had allegedly forcibly gained entry into the reception of the king. Thereafter, they proceeded to vandalize all they saw in the room. Also, the youths pelted the bedroom of the monarch with stones, breaking the window glasses. In the ensuing melee, three of the protesting #EndSARS youth were reportedly shot dead; while others sustained injuries.
