‘Blossom Benjamin’ trends as Nigerians dig up comment by Facebook user threatening murdered Dr. Chike Akunyili

A certain Facebook user with the username Blossom Benjamin is trending on the platform following the murder of Dr. Chike Akunyili.

Dr. Akunyili, the widower of late NAFDAC DG; as well as former Information Minister, Dora Akunyili, was shot dead at Nkpor, Anambra State.

The incident occurred on Tuesday, September 28.

Following his death, Facebook users dug out an old comment made by a certain Blossom Benjamin; threatening to make the late doctor “pay” and “never go scot free”.

As the comment gained attention, Blossom Benjamin began trending on Facebook.

 

 

Nigerians also took to the post made by Dr Akunyili, where the user left the threat, to comment after the post went viral.

It was later observed that the Facebook user who made the threat has now changed their name to Nimah Nnenna; after Facebook users started calling them out.

Meanwhile, the Department of State Services (DSS) says it has no hand in the killing of Dr Chike Akunyili, widower of Dora Akunyili.1st News reports that Dora was a former Minister of Information as well as ex-DG of the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC).

Akunyili was killed in Anambra by unknown gunmen on Tuesday. A social media video has claimed that the DSS was responsible for the attack on the medical doctor.

However, Dr. Peter Afunanya, DSS spokesman, in a statement on  Wednesday, described the claim as “spurious and illogical”.
