Mr Olumide Braithwaite, son of late elder statesman and leader of Nigerian Advance Party, NAP, Dr Tunji Braithwaite, has decamped from the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, to the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Lagos State.
This is especially a surprise because Braithwaite was a chieftain of the PDP. He stood for primaries for the Lagos Central senatorial district in 2015.
He highlighted the leadership problems that have remained persistent in PDP in recent times in Lagos as one of his reasons for moving ships alongside former state chairman, Moshood Salvador. Speaking on personalities who recently moved from their party to another, Braithwaite said that he consulted members of his constituency and that while he was not one to take such decisions lightly as a matter of principle, he had the confidence that APC would be the right party to assuage the grievances of the electorate during the 2019 general elections.
