
Mercedes-Benz is recalling almost a million older cars due to possible brake problems. Germany’s dpa newswire reported on this Saturday; citing the KBA motor vehicle authority.
Mercedes-Benz (MBGn.DE) is recalling almost a million older cars from around the world; due to possible problems with the brake booster, the company said on Saturday.
Models of the ML, GL (BR 164) and R-Class (BR 251) series produced between 2004 and 2015 are affected, it said.
Some 70,000 of them are in Germany.

“We have found that in some of those vehicles; the function of the brake booster could be affected by advanced corrosion in the joint area of the housing,” the company said in a statement.
This could result in an increase in the brake pedal force needed to decelerate the vehicle; and/or to a potentially increased stopping distance, it added.
Equally important, Mercedes-Benz is starting the recall immediately.
In other news, Saudi Arabia condemns and denounces statements by the spokeswoman of India’s ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) which constituted an insult to the Prophet Mohammed, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said on Sunday, June 5.
“The Saudi Arabia Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed its condemnation and denunciation of the statements made by the spokeswoman of the Indian Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), insulting the Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him; and reaffirms its permanent rejection of prejudice against the symbols of the Islamic religion, alongside all religious figures and symbols,” state news agency SPA reported.

Also, India’s ruling party BJP suspended its spokeswoman Nupur Sharma over her comments about Prophet Mohammed.
Meanwhile, the Saudi Arabia ministry welcomed BJP’s measures and reiterated the Kingdom’s position calling for respecting all beliefs and religions.
