Tragedy has enveloped Opebi area, Ikeja, Lagos as a helicopter reportedly crashed into a building in the area.
The incident occurred today, Friday August 28 at about 12. 17pm, at Salvation Road, Opebi, Lagos.
Earlier, the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) had said rescuers are on their way to the scene.
However, the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) confirmed to newsmen that two persons died in the helicopter crash.
Specifically, the Acting Coordinator of the Lagos Territorial Office of NEMA, Mr Ibrahim Farinloye, confirmed the development in an interview with newsmen in Lagos. Also,he confirmed that the crash occurred at No. 16, Salvation Road in Opebi, north of Lagos.
“One person was rescued alive and two persons died, including the pilot,” Farinloye said.

Meanwhile, the Director-General of the Budget Office, Ben Akabueze, on Thursday, August 27, warned that Nigeria may slip into another recession in the third quarter; due to ravaging effects of the COVID-19 pandemic and depressed oil prices.
