Konga, Airtel sign historic partnership

E-Commerce giants, Konga has signed a Memorandum of Understanding, (MoU), with foremost telecoms leader, Airtel.


The event took place in the Airtel Plaza, Banana Island, Lagos.


In his welcome speech, the Chief Commercial Officer, of Airtel, Godfrey Efeurhobo said, the MoU, between the e-commerce leader and Airtel, is crucial and symbolic; noting that it demonstrates the commitment to reaching the customers. According to him, Airtel has resolved to make life better for its over 50 million customers; adding that Airtel’s partnership with the e-Commerce company is to make its products and services more accessible and affordable to customers.


Konga is a world-class brand

While appreciating Konga for the innovations introduced in e-Commerce; Efeurhobo said Airtel will leverage Konga’s platform to deliver the needs of her customers, at their doorsteps at a very affordable price.


Also speaking, Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of Airtel Nigeria, Mr. Surendran Chemmenkofil, described the event as historic; saying it is the first partnership he will be signing in his office.


While describing the MoU as a win-win partnership, he said Airtel aims to provide her customers with reliable services; create customers’ confidence in her products, and bring a lot of value to her services through a strategic partnership with Konga.

Nick Imudia hails partnership as strategic

Mr. Surendran commended Konga for its resilience and professionalism, stressing that Airtel customers will be getting their products through the company.


Also in his comments, the Co-Chief Executive Officer, (Co-CEO), Konga Group; Mr. Nick Imudia said the signing of the MoU is the most strategic partnership signing this year.


Offer products and services of strategic importance

According to Imudia, Konga believes in creating an ecosystem where millions of its customers explore its products and services; adding that the company is the e-Commerce group Nigerians can trust.


Further, Imudia disclosed that other subsidiaries such as; Konga Pay, Konga Health, Konga Delivery, offer products and services that are of strategic importance; urging Nigerians to explore these services for a better living.

On why Konga chose Airtel for this strategic partnership; Imudia said the communication giant is a global brand doing well to improve its services. He added that through this partnership, both groups will be enriched with new customers through  promotions and offering world-class services.


Furthermore, he thanked Mr. Surendran for hosting the group.


Meanwhile, the highlight of the occasion was the signing of the MoU. Also, group photographs were taken to commemorate the event.
