Tinubu returns from London

The presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Bola Tinubu, has returned to the country after weeks in the United Kingdom.



The whereabouts of the former Lagos State governor have been the question on the lips of some Nigerians in recent days.





In a tweet on Thursday, presidential aide, Bashir Ahmad, said Tinubu had returned to Abuja.



He said, “Our presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu has returned to Abuja from London.”



In a tweet accompanied by a video showing him working out on a fitness bike, he wrote, “Many have said I have died; others claim I have withdrawn from the presidential campaign. Well… Nope.

“This is the reality: I am strong, I am healthy and I am ready to serve Nigerians from Day One.”



Meanwhile, Gov. Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra has called on the Federal Government to come to the assistance of the state as it battles ravaging floods.


Soludo made the call on Thursday, October 6, after visiting Ogbaru, one of the flooded areas.


About five Local Government Areas in Anambra including Ogbaru; Anambra East, Anambra West, Ayamelun, Onitsha South, parts of Awka North, and Ihiala are heavily flooded.


In a statement signed by his Press Secretary, Christian AburimeSoludo said there was a need for the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA); as well as good-spirited individuals and groups to assist his government to alleviate the hardship faced by displaced persons.
