President Muhammadu Buhari has criticized the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar by referring to his petition as the most worthless election allegation in history.
Buhari further urged the presidential election petition court to dismiss the petition due to its alleged lack of merit.
The president and the All Progressives Congress (APC) stated that apart from the fact that the relief sought by the petitioners is meaningless, Atiku and the PDP failed woefully to prove the allegations.
The president and the APC argued that the petitioners dumped documents on the tribunal in the name of trying to tender evidence in court.
They said: “It is submitted with every force that in the annals of election petition proceedings in Nigeria; this particular petition has been the most starved in terms of evidence, whether oral or documentary.
“The petitioners also woefully failed to appreciate that this court does not wrought miracles; but decides cases according to law, and not based on sentiments.”
