President Muhammadu Buhari will swear in new ministers on Wednesday, August 21st. The inauguration of the new ministers will mark the culmination of a two-day retreat organized by the the office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF).
This was disclosed in a statement signed by the Permanent Secretary, Cabinet Affairs Office, Babatunde Lawal. The statement indicated that the two-day induction retreat for the new ministers will hold on August 19th and 20th.
The retreat, initially scheduled for August 15th and 16th, will hold at the Federal Executive Council Chambers, Presidential Villa in Abuja.
Four main points were identified as objectives of the induction retreat, as disclosed by the SGF’s office. They include building a strong platform for synergy and teamwork. Furthermore, the need to sensitize appointees on the status of the implementation of policies, programmes and projects of government from 2015-date.
In addition, the retreat will acquaint appointees with the roadmap for delivery of government’s priorities and next level agenda (2019-2023). As well, the programme will seek to deepen the understanding of participants on best practices in conducting government business

Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha, had earlier directed the ministers-designate to submit an updated copy of their Curriculum Vitae (CV) in soft and hard copies. Further, the ministers were asked to submit any valid means of identification.
In addition, the SGF had notified them to pick up relevant documents for their study and guidance. The notice, announced on August 2nd, was in preparation for the inauguration of the new cabinet.
Listed among the documents are Status Report on Policies, Programmes and Projects; the 2019-2023 Road Map, FEC Handbook, among others.
President Buhari will preside over the retreat. Subsequently, he is expected to swear in the new ministers on Wednesday August 21st from 11am.
