‘Buhari will work for progress of Ndigbo’ – Ohanaeze

The Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Council Worldwide on Tuesday, March 26 reassured the Igbo people that President Muhammadu Buhari is ready to develop the region whilst working towards the development of the people in his upcoming second tenure.

The body also stated the Buhari government would do well in fixing the economy and fighting corruption.

This was contained in a statement by the President-General of the body, Okechukwu Isiguzoro, who stated this in Abakaliki, the Ebonyi State capital, when a coalition of Igbo youth groups paid him a courtesy visit.

The Igbo youth groups included World Igbo Youth Council, South-East Women Professionals and Igbo Students Movement.

“The increased ongoing work on most of the federal roads in the South-East, especially the Enugu/Port Harcourt Express Road and Onitsha/Enugu Express Road, points to the fact that Buhari means well for Ndigbo and the entire South-South,” Isiguzoro said.

He called on Buhari not to be deterred by the antics of some Igbo leaders who, according to him, were dwelling in the past.

He also urged the President to take the issue of restructuring seriously.
