Nigerian recording artiste, Burna Boy has stated that he was emotional at the time he tweeted about the ongoing attacks on residents of Obigbo and Oyibo.
Burna Boy has also apologized after being called out by a Twitter user over what he termed as ”bigotry and rancor.”
The singer had taken to his Twitter handle on Friday, October 23, to raise an alarm of attack in Obigbo as well as Oyigbo area of Rivers state. In the now-deleted tweets, the artiste blamed the attack on Fulani herdsmen.

A Twitter user who reacted following the tweets accused him of “hypocrisy born out of bigotry and rancour”. He likewise added that Burna’s tweets were deleted after it had gone viral.

Burna Boy who responded to the tweets, apologized and also revealed that he never meant any harm.
“This is from the bottom of my soul.
I did not mean any harm by what I said. I sincerely apologise for coming across that way.
I’m already in a dark place inside.
You are my Brother and I LOVE YOU.
Please don’t be offended.
We are all hurt, angry, afraid and confused right now.”
The protests, on Friday, October 23 resulted in the death of eight persons and burning of three police stations at Oyigbo, Afam and Umuegbulem in Etche and Oyigbo local councils of the state.
Governor Nyesom Wike has imposed a 24-hour curfew on Oyigbo council area following the sudden violent nature of the #EndSARS protests in parts of Rivers State.
