Burna Boy narrates Nigerian ordeal in new video ‘Dangote’

Burna Boy is back to work. After an intriguing 2018, Oluwaburna as he is jocularly called has dropped the visuals for his new single ‘Dangote’.

The singer recently released the video for the Aliko Dangote influenced jam. The single was released few days ago, after receiving considerable amount of airplay by media outlets, the video was an immediate follow up.

The lyrics of the song is self-explanatory and every Nigerian is able to relate with the daily struggle of the nation. Burna Boy discussed about the alarming rate of unemployment in the country, the infuriating poverty rate and low standard of living.


Glimpses of harassment by the Special Anti-Robbery Squad, SARS was also included in the video.

Burna suggested that it is essential to work hard and seek money on a regular basis instead of wallowing in the adversity of the country.

First, he acknowledged the financial status of Aliko Dangote who is the wealthiest man in Africa and is currently the 64th richest man in the world according to Forbes list.

Furthermore, he mentioned the names of rich men such as Femi Otedola, Dele Momodu and Mike Adenuga.

The video was directed by the experienced cinematographer, Clarence Peter. It was produced by Kelp Amba and the style and structure of the song is reminiscent of the legendary Afrobeat connoisseur, Fela Kuti.
