Afrobeats poster boy, Damini Ogulu better known as Burna Boy has received his Grammy Award plaque.
Recall Burna Boy made history a couple of months ago when he became the first Nigerian solo artiste to win a Grammy award.
The singer’s Twice as Tall album won Best Global Music album at the 2031 Grammy which held in March.
Posting photos and a video of himself with the plaque on his Instagram page, the singer wrote;
‘‘Early Morning deliveries from across the pond!”
My parents prayed for excellent children, not houses, cars, or “things”.
They asked my sisters for stellar degrees; one got a first-class in Finance, the other got a Distinction in Engineering.
They asked me for a Grammy, and here we are.
I am a product of sacrifice! Thank God and thank you all again! ‘‘

The 29-year-old Afrobeats singer clinched his first Grammy Award after winning the ‘Best Global Music Album’ category for ‘Twice As Tall‘; his 2020 project.
He is also the first official Afrobeats artiste to win a Grammy.
Equally important, the self-acclaimed African Giant had revealed his disappointment at missing out on the award last year. The superstar artiste had lost out to Beninoise legend, Angelique Kidjo. However, he had been undeterred by the Grammy snub and had re-doubled his effort.
Consequently, the self-styled African Giant had been nominated for the second consecutive year.
