In 2018, Burna Boy was the sweetheart of the Nigerian entertainment sphere; the singer could just do no wrong with the massive hits that he released. However, his new single ‘Dangote’ is not receiving similar affection from Nigerians.
Burna Boy released the official video for ‘Dangote’ on Monday, March 4th; and it received a cold reception from his audience.
The single has failed to receive immediate adoration like ‘Ye’ and ‘On a low’ which saw the artiste receive the Soundcity ‘Artiste of the year’ in 2018.

He shared his hustle on one hand from the perspective of that of Africa’s richest man, Aliko Dangote. The single was also named after the wealthiest man in Africa.
Furthermore, Burna boy mentioned the name of wealthy Nigerians such as Mike Adenuga and Femi Adenuga, he stated that he is inspired by their financial buoyancy.
The singer touched on sensitive issues in the single.
Burna Boy reflected on the discrepancies that is currently annihilating the youths, such as drugs, unemployment, poverty and the daily ambition to earn money.
The video was directed by Clarence Peter, who is renowned for his exquisite visual concept. He was able to portray the various lifestyle of the Nigerian youth, with major influences from the shanties of the inner city.

Burna Boy's Dangote vid is probably the best naija music video I've seen in ages.
The song slaps much more too after seeing the vid. Wasn't sure I liked it when I listened on the radio.
