
A member of the House of Representatives, Gabriel Onyewife, from Anambra State has defected from the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Onyewinfe’s letter of resignation was read during plenary on Wednesday, December 5, by the Speaker of the House, Yakubu Dogara.

In the letter, Onyenwinfe blamed his decision to defect to the PDP on the outcome of the primaries conducted by APGA in his which state which he said was not done in a transparent way.
“APGA is in deep crisis. The party does not follow democratic processes,” he opined.
He also said the party had been divided with the emergence of a factional New-APGA.

The Speaker also welcomed three new members to the House. The members emerged victorious from November 17, 2018, by-elections and they include Tunji Olawuyin, Yusuf Nuhu and Abubakar Kusada from Kwara, Bauchi and Katsina States respectively.
