Deportee commits suicide moments after returning from Dubai

 

A 30-year-old deportee identified as Emmanuel Obiefuna has reportedly committed suicide; several days after returning from Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

 

According to reports, the young man was likewise deported to Nigeria from Dubai recently.

 

1st News carried out a thorough investigation over the week; and it was discovered that the deportee made numerous suggestive posts on the social media page, Facebook.

 

Emmanuel Obiefuna started making suicidal posts via his Facebook page. Some members of his family as well as friends were unable to reach him weeks after news of his deportation. In the end, he took his own life; after they failed to reach his location in Lagos.

It was alleged that his stay in Dubai was fruitless and nebulous; as he was unable to make any tangible acquisition during his stay. His frustration led to a devastating incident.

 

It was also gathered that he was also always blocking anyone that talked him out of his plan to commit suicide.

 

Some of his friends have taken to his Facebook page to express their shock at the news of him taking his own life.

Mechanic commits suicide in Lagos

 

A couple of months ago, it was also reported that a mechanic committed suicide in Lagos.

 

Meanwhile, a spokesman for the command, DSP Bala Elkana, confirmed the incident in a statement on Monday.

 

Elkana said the Shomolu Pedro Police Station received an information that one Kabiru Bello of No. 77, Owode Ibeshe, Ikorodu, Lagos State, allegedly drank the liquid substance suspected to be Sniper.

 

He said that the incident happened on Saturday at about 12:56 p.m inside his Volkswagen commercial bus with registration number AKD-724 XM. As a matter of fact, he was at a mechanic workshop at Ladylac Bus stop, Shomolu at the time.

 

The issue of suicide is fast becoming a trend in Nigeria among youths.

 

There have been reports of many young people turning to suicide as an end to depression or other ills.

 

Furthermore, there has been a rise in the use of lethal insecticide – Sniper – as a suicide agent. Consequently, the sale of the poisonous product has been banned in open markets.
