Dragging God: Here is why Nigerians are livid with the Almighty

Nigerians on social media are dragging God on the microblogging site, Twitter; following the rape and gruesome murder of 22-year-old UNIBEN scholar, Uwa Vera Omozuwa.

 

On Friday, May 30, the Microbiology student of the University of Benin was reportedly assaulted while she was studying in church. A place described as God’s abode.

 

Atheists and agnostics on social media are dragging God due to the fact that; the young lady was killed in the Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG; one of the most popular religious organization in Nigeria.

 

Meanwhile, the RCCG released a statement, saying that the church has been closed since the lockdown but Uwa usually collects the key to go into the church so that she can study in private.

 

It was while studying on May 30 that she was attacked, raped and killed.

Reacting to Uwa’s death, the death of Tina who was shot dead by police, and other ills in Nigeria, people put the blame on God and made some statements considered blasphemous.

 

Dragging God‘ has been trending on the microblogging site, Twitter in the last 24 hours.

 

 

Meanwhile, another section of Twitter users have admonished the acclaimed atheists to thread with caution.

It would be recalled that on Saturday, May 30, 2020, a young lady, Uwa Omozuwa was murdered in Benin city.

 

According to reports, she was raped and died from injuries sustained at the premises of one of the branches of the RCCG, Edo Province 10, Ikpoba Hill where she had gone to read.

 

She was a student at the University of Benin.

 

The gruesome murder of the 22-year-old scholar has propagated the hashtag #JusticeforUwa on social media.
