Leader of Pan Niger Delta Forum, PANDEF, Edwin Clark, on Thursday, February 17, has revealed that he would rather vote for Vice President Yemi Osinbajo to become Nigeria’s next President rather than Bola Tinubu, an All Progressives Congress, APC, presidential aspirant in the 2023 elections.
Edwin Clark made this call during an interview on Arise TV, saying that Tinubu should go and rest despite coming from the most sophisticated region of Nigeria.
He described Osinbajo as an intelligent man who has what it takes to rule Nigeria in 2023.
According to Edwin Clark: “I’m not aware of Jonathan running for the presidency. I’m a father to him and he has not informed me about such intentions.
“The southwest is the most educated and sophisticated people in Nigeria, but Tinubu should go and rest. Other than the Igbos, I would vote for the Vice President; he is an intelligent fellow.
“How many times have we heard Tinubu talking about the affairs of this nation or criticizing those in power?”
Meanwhile, the Police Service Commission (PSC) on Thursday, February 17, suspended an Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP), Sunday Ubua, and Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP), James Bawa, who both worked under the embattled Abba Kyari in the Intelligence Response Team of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF).
This was contained in a statement issued on Thursday, February 17, by the Head of Press and Public Relations of the PSC, Ikechukwu Ani.
“They were also alleged to be involved in the current cocaine seizure; and transfer to the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency,” the statement read.
The Police Commission also noted that the move is in line with the Public Service Rules 030406; and that the suspension, which took effect from Monday, 14th, February 2022, will stand; “until the outcome of the investigation into the allegations levelled against them”.
