EFCC toes 1st News’ path, celebrates corporate satchet water hawker

Several weeks after 1st News first drew attention to a Nigerian graduate who hawks satchet water dressed in corporate outfit; the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has followed suit. The EFCC chose to celebrate the young man, also identified as Michael Iloduba on its official Twitter handle on Monday.

The anti-graft agency selected Iloduba as its #YoungNLegit Pick of the Week”.

Specifically, the EFCC had tweeted; “Meet Michael Iloduba @AuthenticMiche3, the guy who dresses in corporate wears to sell bottle water called Corporate Water. Not deterred by limitations around him, he is determined to make a difference.”

Furthermore, the EFCC had used Iloduba as an example to other Nigerian youths; whom it urged to shun corruption in its tweet.

The Commission also posted pictures of Iloduba going about his business of hawking sachet water. In addition, it had displayed a Corporate Affairs Commission’s certificate; showing that the young man’s business was formally registered.

Nevertheless, the action of the EFCC is coming after that of 1st News; which had featured Iloduba in a documentary.

Iloduba had revealed that his mission is to change the face of satchet water hawking in Nigeria.

A National Diploma (ND) holder, Iloduba is the eldest in a family of four children. He revealed to 1st News that he was forced to take up hawking water; after searching in vain for a job. On his first day on the job, he sold as much as 50 bags of water which he tagged ‘corporate water’; a term that had drawn so much patronage for him on the day and which distinguishes him till date.
