Facebook outage: Social network down for 3 hours, Downdetector shows



Facebook outage leaves users furious, again. Users have reported about the latest Facebook outage on December 4, 2021.


As per the information provided by Downdetector, Facebook outage was reported between 6 pm to 9 pm on December 4 in the UK.


However, as per the latest information, users have reported that there are no current problems on the social networking platform, indicating it is back online for all users.


According to a user, a message saying “Something went wrong” popped up from the Desktop version of Facebook. Instagram users also reported about issues they faced while logging in in the app.


Thousands of users were not being able to access Facebook as is clear from complaints on Downdetector.


On Downdetector, a Facbook user, Dave Sharpe, posted this message; “This Meta things gonna be released soon , im wondering if this is why its down ….. or someones put the wrong script/update in ;)”


Another user going by the name of ‘cuddy2977’ posted; “I’m getting a ‘Something Went Wrong’ message from my Desktop version of FB”.

Yet another user, John Wallbank, posted this despairing message, “Down down down….way on down. It`s the end of the world as we know it lol”

All these complaints were posted some 15 hours ago and no fresh ones are there, indicating the problem has been resolved.


Another Facebook linked network too was down in similar fashion on December , according to reports.


Instagram users who have complained about the same and informed that the application server status makes grim reading.


Downdetector has received thousands of reports about Instagram crashing.


The Downdetector outage map shows that the Instagram issues are mainly affecting users in the UK and Europe.


The Instagram outage is linked more to the website than app, according to reports.

Instagram users have taken to Twitter to complain about the outage on social media platform Twitter.


Also, a couple of months back social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp went down for hours after a server fiasco.
