Who is a baby daddy?
According to Urban Dictionary, a baby daddy is a male that fathers a child but is no longer involved with the mother of the child/children, and more than likely not supporting the children.
Furthermore, a baby daddy can simply be described as the father of your child, whom you did not marry, and with whom you are not currently involved.
Often considered pejorative, particularly if applied to unmarried black parents – if used by one parent of the other, can simply “child in common but no meaningful relationship”. While if used by outsiders, can imply disapproval of children born out of wedlock; see “baby mama” citations.
More formal variants include “baby’s daddy” and “baby’s father”; informal usage “father of one’s child” is preferred.
It is a term that became popularized in the 2000s.
