Renowned media personality, Frank Edoho is disappointed in Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo‘s comments pertaining to the Lekki shooting on Tuesday, October 2o.
The President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), has come under fire for deploying soldiers in the Lekki toll plaza who shot at unarmed protesters, injuring many.
Osinbajo, in a series of tweets, on Thursday, October 22, said he had reached out to those in hospital; and prayed that such would not happen again.
In reaction, Osinbajo said;
“My heart goes out to all the victims of the Lekki shootings, and also the policemen and all other men and women who lost their lives in the past few days in different parts of Lagos and other states.”
“Also, I spoke to some of that in hospital; the pain of these terrible events is palpable in our towns and cities; and some losses are irreplaceable; but we can and will get justice for all of them.
“I stand with Lagos and all other affected states in these trying times.
“We pray we will never see a repeat of these tragedies in Jesus name. God bless you all,’’ he said.
Reacting to the statement, Frank Edoho quoted the VP’s tweet and wrote:
“With your impeccable speaking talent you have managed to be quiet throughout the tragedies of #endsars only to mutter the words, My heart goes out. Your heart goes out. Your heart na lantern?
“You are one of the true disappointments we have seen this year.”
