Funke Akindele tells fans to be wary of catfish account

Nollywood actress, Funke Akindele has told her followers to be wary of false social media account posing as her.

 

According to Funke Akindele, there are numerous accounts created to scam people. She made this known on her verified Instagram account on Thursday, February 18.

 

She said her fans should beware as she is not a party to whatever they do. The fraudster operates a loan business.

Here is what she wrote;

“SCAM ALERT!!! FALSE!!! I’m not a party to this!!

Pls, beware.

Also, note that I’m not giving out gifts neither am I doing any give away whatsoever.”

Continue reading what she wrote;

“We are also NOT enrolling students into any school of the drama of Theatre Group so beware of impostors out there.

Thanks,” she wrote.

 

Funke had disowned some fake Instagram accounts promising giveaways in her name in June 2020.

 

“My attention has been brought to these fake accounts on social media using my name for Giveaways @funkeakindelelife funkeakindelejeniifa.tv funkeakindeleonline.

I am in no way connected to these accounts.

Please help report these pages and beware of fraudsters.

Thank you,” she wrote.

 

The Jenifa star issued a similar warning in July 2016.

 

The Jenifa’s Diary actress who co-produces most of her projects with her husband further spoke on their working relationship.

 

Akindele-Bello noted that she has the creative juice while her husband handles the technical aspect.

 

In her words, JJC Skillz is “very understanding and he is a very good man.”

She said, “For Abdul and me; I am the major producer, Abdul does not produce, he does not even like it. He is a director, he is so technical. I am very creative, he is very technical and he is very good.
