The Imo State Government, in partnership with Harvestplus, a non-governmental food nutrients body, has concluded arrangements to host about 5, 000 participants and; 50 commercial exhibitors in the 8th edition of Nutritious Food Fair, in Owerri, from November 18 to 19, 2022.
Specifically, while briefing Journalists, yesterday, in Owerri, the state Commissioner for Agriculture and Natural Resources; Dr. Barthy Okorochukwu, said the 2022’s edition tagged: ‘Improving Resilience through Nutritious Food System,’ scheduled to hold at the Ahiajoku Convention Centre, would witness the training of farmers on latest improved varieties of crops and other nutrients.
Okorochukwu, who was accompanied by the Country Manager of Harvestplus, Dr. Yusuf Dollah; the state Nutrition Officer, Lois Onyike; a veteran Nollywood actor, Francis Duru; a manager in the organization, Goodluck Ogu, among others, stressed that stakeholders expected; to add value at the fair include policymakers, researchers, farmers and food processors, key private sector players, who are to “showcase and market their innovations, share updates and discuss topical issues emerging in the nutritious food sector.”
Meanwhile, a former military governor of Osun State, Col. Theophilus Bamigboye (rtd), has confirmed paying a ransom to secure the release of his wife, Jumoke Bamigboye kidnapped by gunmen.
However, Mrs. Bamigboye, who was kidnapped at Eiyenkorin, a suburb of Ilorin, the capital of Kwara State, was released Monday night by her abductors.
Specifically, Mrs. Bamigboye, a Magistrate and member of Rotary Club International, was returning from her farm in Ilorin’s Oko-Olowo region; where she had gone to monitor garri processing for some clients when she was abducted by the gunmen.
