
Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, on Wednesday said the state government would grant scholarships to medical students of the Kogi State University, Anyigba who will be proceeding to complete their studies in three selected universities across the country.
The Governor stated this today, at the Government House, Lokoja when he received the students and members of the University management who came on a courtesy visit before departing for clinical studies in their adopted institutions.
The decision to farm out the students whose studies have been stagnated in the last two years due to the lack of accreditation of Kogi state University school of health sciences was to enable government finds lasting solution to the challenges of the institution.
Announcing to the award of the scholarships to the elated students, the governor enjoined them to make the state proud by ensuring excellent outing in their studies, assuring that his administration was committed to safeguarding the future of the youths and children of the state.
He disclosed that government would ensure that this is the last time medical students from the state university would be transferred to other institutions to complete their studies.
Bello assured government had put machinery in motion towards ensuring that the school achieves successful accreditation. Read more
