A man proposed to his girlfriend on August 29, 2022 at a rally organised for a 2023 presidential candidate, Peter Obi.
The rally was held in Onitsha, Anambra State.
This was seen in a video that quickly went viral on social media. The man used the Peter Obi support march as an opportunity to propose to his partner.
Peter Obi is the presidential candidate for the Labour Party.
Other rally attendees surrounded the pair and were obviously happy for them from the way they clapped and anticipated her answer.
The Onitsha rally was organized a day after a similar one held in Port Harcourt, the capital of Rivers State. An estimated five-million young people (up from the initial two-million) took to the streets to show support for Peter Obi.

Similar events have also taken place in other cities across Nigeria.
Just like Port Harcourt and other editions, Onitsha’s streets were essentially shut down for the duration of the rally. In like manner, youths from all over the city joined the opening procession, swelling the numbers. At various points, a sea of human heads could be seen snaking through the city while singing and dancing.
Although it was impossible to determine who the pair was, the occurrence seemed to have excited the audience. C
