Nigerian lady shares power outage ordeal during surgery

A Nigerian lady has taken to the social media platform, Facebook to narrate the heart-wrenching moment the Power Holding Company Nigeria, PHCN; interrupted power supply during her surgery in a hospital in Umuahia, Abia State.

 

According to the Nigerian lady, the surgery went well; despite the awkward experience.

 

Specifically, she stated that she is fortunate to be alive after “PHCN took light” while she was undergoing surgery in a hospital in Umuahia.

 

According to the Nigerian lady identified as Blessing Nwobodo, she found a lump in her breast; and was advised to remove it even though it wasn’t cancerous.

The government hospital in Abia state was on strike so she went to a private hospital in Umuahia.

 

She explained that during surgery, she was on local anaesthesia and was conscious. Midway through the surgery, “NEPA took light”.

 

She said the doctor performing the surgery ran out; and asked her aunt to call someone named Ifeanyi to put on the generator. Ifeanyi returned, saying there was no fuel.

 

A nurse came in with a torchlight which the doctor used for the surgery until power was restored.

 

Blessing explained that she was staring at the ceiling while everything was unfolding and she was singing Rihanna’s Please Don’t Stop The Music.

She said her experience made her want to curse Nigeria; but she realized; “the country is already cursed.”

Equally important, Umuahia is the capital city of Abia State in southeastern Nigeria.

 

Meanwhile, several hours after Flavour revealed that he was threatened by Enugu State governor, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, his colleague, Phyno has also accused the governor of the same act.

 

Phyno has accused the Enugu state government of threatening his life and that of other #EndSARS protesters.

 

In a tweet he shared, he stated that the Enugu state government should be held responsible should anything happen to them. Phyno accused Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of storming the protest with thugs who tried to fight them.
