Nigerian man proposes to partner at protest

Amidst the ongoing #EndSARS protest across the country, a Nigerian man made the decision to take his relationship with his partner to the next phase by asking for her hand in marriage.

 

The Nigerian man who has been identified as Demola took to the bold step on Tuesday, October 13 at Alausa, Ikeja in Lagos.

 

Demola shared photos from the proposal on his Twitter handle.

”Proposed to the LOML today & she said Yes. my friends were there to cheer me up… #SarsMustGoNow”

Meanwhile, the Federal Government on Tuesday, October 13, agreed to meet the five demands of the #EndSARS protesters.

In a move to redress agitations by the #EndSARS protesters; the Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Adamu, convened a meeting with stakeholders.

This is in a move to meet sundry demands including halting use of force against protesters; as well as the unconditional release of arrested citizens.

According to a statement issued by the Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina; the response is in line with the yearnings of the citizens.

1st News garnered that the meeting, organized by the Office of the Inspector General of Police; and also National Human Rights Commission; was a multi-stakeholders’ forum attended by leaders; as well as representatives of civil society organisations in Nigeria; activists from the entertainment industry and also the #EndSARS movement; and likewise development partners.

 

The FSARS unit was earlier disbanded on Sunday, October 11.
