Nigerian soldier warns those planning to cause problems on Election Day

A video of a Nigerian soldier explaining what will be done to anyone who comes to a polling unit to constitute a nuisance on Saturday, February 25, has made the rounds on social media.

In the video posted by Linda Ikeji, the soldiers who have been moved into different metropolis ahead of the elections, warned miscreants who might want to disrupt the electoral process.

One of them said, “If you go there on Saturday and do anyhow, we go chop your father eye.”

The Nigerian Army in Lagos has warned persons and political thugs planning to thwart the elections to have a rethink.

The General Officer Commanding (GOC) 81 Division Major General Obinna Ajunwa gave the warning. He said the 2023 election was for Nigerians, and not the armed forces, as the military was highly apolitical. He said the military was ready to work with whoever that was elected as president. In addition, he said, “Ours is to make sure that nobody’s ambition will consume the life of anybody.

General Ajunwa urged Nigerians to shun their personal desires but look out for what would benefit the whole society.

He warned political thugs and persons being used by politicians to thwart the system to desist from doing so.
