Obama: Burna Boy, Rema make ex-US President’s list of favourite songs of 2019


Former President of the United States of America, Barack Obama has included Nigerian hit makers Burna Boy and Rema in his list of favourite songs for 2019.


Taking to the microblogging site, Twitter on Monday, December 30;, Obama unveiled 35 songs that captivated him throughout the year. Equally important, two of Nigeria’s megastars were included on the list.


Specifically, the Grammy-nominated African Giant, Burna Boy’s ‘Anybody‘ and 19-year-old youngster Rema’s breakthrough single ‘Iron man‘ both appeared on the list.


It is essential to note that this is not the first time Rema will be making Obama’s music list. Several months ago, the former President named the 19-year-old ‘Iron man’ crooner in his summer playlist 2019.


Also, Burna Boy has enjoyed a stellar 2019, with his African Giant album making him a fan’s favourite.


Obama revealed in his caption that the songs included on his list aided him through numerous activities in 2019. These activities include driving, workout programs, etc.

Equally important, Obama also shared the list of some of his favourite movies and books for 2019. He was generous enough to share the complete list on his Twitter timeline.


He included the caption, ‘Next up are my favourite movies and TV shows of 2019. Of course, there’s also American Factory, a film from our own production company, Higher Ground, that was recently shortlisted for an Oscar.
