
Osun State Security Network also known as Amotekun Corps on Tuesday said some hoodlums allegedly working for the opposition Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, invaded its office at Isale Osun area where they attacked personnel of the security outfit.
According to a statement by the spokesperson of the corps, Yusuf Idowu, the hoodlums wielding dangerous weapons, after laying siege on the office, attacked two personnel.
The perpetrators were said to have covered their faces to prevent them from being recognized by the people.
Amotekun
Equally important, the statement read in part; “They fired a close-range bullet to one Amotekun personnel; identified as Adebisi, and the Field Commander of Osun Amotekun Corps, Comrade Amitolu Shittu.
“They asked what the Chairperson of Osogbo South LCDA, Hon Bolaji Jimoh a.k.a Gbogbolomo was doing in the office of National Population Commission that shares compound with the Amotekun Office at that time.
“The hoodlums who tried to forcefully bring out the chairperson of Osogbo South LCDA were prevented by the Amotekun personnel.
“The thugs came out from a PDP-branded Sienna vehicle with masks on their faces and attacked Amotekun men with guns; cutlasses, broken bottles and inflicted injuries on the personnel.
“The field commander of Osun Amotekun Corps, Comrade Amitolu Shittu, who came to settle the issue was also attacked. We appealed to all political parties in the state to see Amotekun as an outfit that belongs to all.”
Enugu
Meanwhile, the anti-cult operatives of the Enugu State Police Command have reportedly arrested and beaten to a pulp; one Mr. Chekwube Nwodo for an undisclosed offence said to have been committed by his elder brother.
Further, it was gathered that the operatives on Tuesday, June 28, 2022, invaded Chekwube’s house; located in the Enugu South Local Government Area of the state, in the dead of night. They broke his door to forcibly gain entrance; before beating him till he almost became unconscious.
