Police nab 2 fake soldiers with charms in Lagos

Police officers in Lagos State have detained Oluwatosin Gabriel and Nurudeen Agboola, both 35, who were posing as soldiers. The Policemen found military uniforms, police equipment, and live ammunition on them.

1st News learnt that the suspects were arrested as the state’s total motorcycle ban was being enforced in some regions.

Benjamin Hundeyin, the Lagos Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), confirmed the arrest in a statement.

According to Mr. Hundeyin, one of the suspects, Oluwatosin Gabriel, 39, was detained during the implementation complete motorbike ban.

In addition, he claims that a detective investigation led in the detention of the second suspect, Nurudeen Agboola, 35. Nurudeen is allegedly a supplier of military uniforms. Items recovered from him were four pairs of military camouflage outfits, nine live cartridges, military identification cards, police accoutrements, and charms.

“Investigation is ongoing to establish the extent of their criminality. The suspects would be arraigned after the conclusion of investigation,” he said.

Mr Hundeyin also claimed that CP Abiodun Alabi, praised the detectives for their work.

Furthermore, he urged the officers of the command to double their efforts to sustain the safety and security of the state. Also, he encouraged civilians to report anything suspicious to security operatives.
