Producer Tee-Y Mix, producer and MTN Project Fame judge, is about to start up a record label.
According to a recent statement, the brain behind such hits as Naeto C’s Kini Big Deal and Darey’s Carry Dey Go, is about to “blow up his profile” and has promised his fans that the project will “top the predecessors.”
The name of the label is yet to be announced. And the statement was silent on artists expected to join the label, but should the project work out like his biggest productions have, then music lovers can hold justifiably high hopes.
With this announcement Tee-Y Mix, real name Temitope Ibitoye, joins the ranks of producers with record labels of their own, Mavins boss Don Jazzy being arguably the most famous producer cum label owner.
Asked once if fear was a factor as to why he hadn’t taken to singing like some of his colleagues including the aforementioned Don Jazzy, Tee-Y Mix replied: “I’m not scared. In terms of trying something new even as a producer I’m trying different things.”
Fans of Tee-Y Mix will hope this attempt at something new succeeds.
