Reggae Blues is my song of the year – Toni Kan

http://www.naijaloaded.com.ng/

Song title: Reggae Blues

Artiste: Harrysong ft. Olamide, Kaycee, Orezi, Iyanya

House: 5 Star Music.

This song and video are amazing. Pity I only just found it. Reggae Blues is a conurbation; high-life, gyration, afro-pop and even a touch of hip hop. This is ultimately the direction contemporary Nigerian music will go, must go; dig deep into the past to please the present.

Reggae Blues for many who do not know is a riff on the old saying back when we were young in Bendel state – no take your reggae spoil my blues!

This song takes hilarity notches higher – “enjoy yourself baby boo/cos even your boo, get a boo.” Ouch!

I am not even sure whether Orezi and Olamide, Iyanya and Kaycee being young cats even understand the provenance of their lilting chorus.

And did you hear Kaycee’s opening line – “Ladies call me talk and do/Cos I no dey for cock and bull.”

Boys are on point!

And that video, hmmm. Where did they dig up Klint the Drunk? Very well put together.

Harrysongs delivers an amazing tune; fun, danceable and a tribute to the past.

Nice, nice , nice.

5 stars for 5 Star Music.
