
Singer Tems won the award for “Best Melodic Rap Performance” in the Grammy’s on Sunday night for her work on Future and Drake’s smash hit song “Wait for U,” becoming her the first female Nigerian musician to do so.
The “Free Minds” hitmaker had the chance to work on smash hits with the best in the American music business. This was after her hit duet song with Wizkid, Essence, propelled her into the spotlight.
Tems won her first Grammy on Sunday night at the Cryto.com Arena in Los Angeles for “Wait for U”. It was a song a that featured song on Future’s smash hit song from 2022 that also included Drake. Tems has won the Grammy for “Best Melodic Rap Performance” and is the first African and Nigerian to do so.

Meanwhile, Burna Boy, who was nominated in the “Best Global Music Album” and the “Best Global Music Performance” categories, failed to win any of them.
Meanwhile, Beyonce became the biggest winner in history, after receiving her 32nd trophy at the ceremony. Harry Styles won the album of the year for “Harry’s House”.
Other award winners were: Samara Joy (best new artist), Lizzo (record of the year) and Bonnie Raitt (song of the year).
