Six killed in auto crash at EKSU gate

No fewer than five persons were killed in an auto crash Monday night in Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State. The accident occurred at about 7.35pm in front of the main gate of Ekiti State University (EKSU). Police spokesperson, Alberto Adeyemi, stated that officers at the scene confirmed that five bodies were conveyed to the mortuary of Ekiti State University Teaching Hospital (EKSUTH).

A witness said the accident was caused by some boys suspected to be Internet fraudsters, otherwise known as “Yahoo boys”, who were driving on a high speed at the busy junction. He said some “Yahoo boys” crashed their car into a mini-commercial vehicle conveying students from the campus. “The yahoo-yahoo boys must have been heavily drunk and they drove carelessly and collided with the commercial bus.
