Tacha urges religious leaders to desist from promoting politicians ahead 2023

Former Big Brother Naija housemate, Tacha Akide has admonished religious leaders to desist from using the name of God to influence voter’s decisions.

 

The BBNaija reality star took to her Instagram Stories to say that “Nigeria has been set back by 50 years” and it will take us several years to make progress.

 

Tacha reprimanded religious leaders not to use their prophecies to make matters worse for the country during the next election.

 

She pointed out that she respects religion and religious leaders but said it’s troubling that when it’s election period; religious leaders come out to claim that God spoke to them that a particular candidate should lead. Consequently, the reality star cautioned clerics to leave God out when recommending 2023 election choices to their many religious followers.

“2023 election is coming up, support your candidate.  If God did not say anything to you, don’t involve him,” she told pastors.

This is coming several days after Nigerian entertainment polymath, Banky W decried the travails in the country.
He also took to the social media platform, Twitter to condemn the ongoing crisis that has been making the headlines in recent times.

The singer in his tweet stated that Nigerians are now numb to the bad news coming from different sections of the country.
He further added that “it’s like we are in an abusive relationship with the country we love.”

“So much bad news in Nigeria every day…

We’ve become numb to it.

If it’s not murder and kidnapping, it’s unrest and people unfit for office calling the shots.

As a matter of fact, it’s like we are in an abusive relationship with the country we love.

It’s exhausting.

Indeed, It’s draining. It’s depressing.”
