A 26-year-old woman from Kenya identified as Doreen Moraa Morachaa has revealed her inspiring story on how she was born with HIV and coping with the attendant stigma.
Moraa boldly took to her Facebook page with the declaration while revealing she is not scared of flaunting her status publicly.
She also revealed she was born HIV positive to discordant parents (the father is negative but the mother is positive and are still living together).
Morachaa revealed that doctors had told her parents that she had only four years to live when she was first diagnosed at eight years.
However, she outlived the predictions of the doctors and she celebrated her birthday recently on August 6.

“I’ve been living positively for 26 years so if it was a death sentence shouldn’t I be dead already?
“Let’s break down the myths and misconceptions let’s stop the stigma, let’s love and appreciate PLWHIV because if you are not infected you are definitely affected.
“People say I make HIV look easy but it is easy I am not ready to give a small virus power over my life I accepted my status and every day I declare that I am GREATER THAN HIV.
“Now go out there take that HIV test or better still go to a pharmacy near you and buy the self-test kit and know your status from the comfort of your home.”
