Tinubu Denies Involvement in Oando/ConocoPhilips Deal

Former Lagos State governor and a leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu, yesterday reacted to some of the direct attacks from a former top-notch member of his party, Chief Tom Ikimi, who last week accused Tinubu of manipulating APC for personal gains.

Ikimi had in a lengthy letter titled: “APC, My Reflections” and addressed to the party’s National Chairman, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun, derided Tinubu, citing betrayal and his knack for acquiring wealth at the expense of others, as reasons for his decision to leave APC. Read more

Ebola threatens food security in West Africa

The world’s worst Ebola epidemic has put harvests at risk and sent food prices soaring in West Africa, the U.N. Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) said yesterday, warning the problem would intensify in coming months.

The FAO issued a special alert for Liberia, Sierra Leone and Guinea, the three countries most affected by the outbreak, which has killed around 1,550 people since the virus was detected in the remote jungles of southeastern Guinea in March. Read more

FEC to approve infrastructure master plan today
