Tinubu: Buhari in support of my Presidential ambition

The National Leader of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, on Monday, January 10, disclosed that President Muhammadu Buhari is in support of his presidential ambition for 2023.

1st News gathered that Tinubu during his visit to Aso Villa on Monday, informed the president of his intention to run for presidency in 2023.

Tinubu told State House correspondents after a closed-door meeting with Buhari that the president did not ask him to discard his political ambition.

“The president is a democrat. He did not ask me to stop, he didn’t ask me not to attempt and pursue my ambition. It’s a lifelong ambition.

“You’re running a democratic dispensation and you must adopt the principles and values and virtues of democracy,” Tinubu said.

When asked to comment on Osinbajo and Yahaya Bello and other politicians with similar presidential intentions in APC, Tinubu said, “I don’t want to discuss individuals now, I must discuss myself. I have the confidence, vision and capacity to build on the foundation of the president and turn Nigeria better. I have done that with commitment and yielding zeal in Lagos State.”

The former Lagos State Governor went ahead to boast of his achievement, which shows he has the capacity to turn things around.

“The confusion and drift of the past in PDP is being corrected as we are today. Going back to the data of how many barrels of oil we were producing when we took over and what we have today you can see excellent infrastructure.

“Let’s think back and be intellectually inquisitive as to the past and the present; as well as what the future holds for Nigeria.”

Meanwhile, a former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, Muhammad Sanusi ll; has urged Nigerians to get their Permanent Voters’ Cards, PVCs, ahead of 2023.

Sanusi made this call on Sunday, January 9; on the final day of the three-day annual conference of the World Maulid anniversary; in honour of the Holy Prophet Muhammad, in Lokoja, Kogi State.

According to him, eligible Nigerians should get their PVCs; and vote for competent candidates in all positions.

He also emphasized the need for employment; stressing that if youths were employed the country would improve.
