Toni Tones: ‘I stopped seeing a man that asked me to give up my career on our first date’


Talented Nollywood actress, Toni Tones has shared her encounter with a man that asked her to stop acting on their first date.


Toni Tones revealed that that was their last date because he wanted her to give up her lifelong dream and career.


According to the Nollywood superstar, she spent years building her dreams, hence it is impossible she throws them away due to love and affection.


She mentioned that she established the dreams via her sweat and tears.

She tweeted:


“I once met someone who on our first date, said to me “I hope you’re willing to give up this your career and I’ll set up a business for you. I travel a lot and I need my babe to be with me all the time. This one that you’re always very busy” That was also our last date.


“He basically wanted me to give up my lifelong dream and career that I’ve spent years building with sweat and tears, so we could be ‘hanging out’. He didn’t understand why I wasn’t over the moon at the idea.”

Nollywood sways to the tune of Toni Tones



Toni Tones real name Gbemi Anthonia Adefuye is a Nigerian photographer, singer, and actor.


She has appeared on TV and film and is known as a media personality in Nigeria.


Tones belatedly explored her ambition to show business. Her parents had made sure that she finished college before she indulged her career of choice.


Her brother had been a musician with the band Oxygen and Tones initially decided to be a show business photographer.


Toni Tones’ portfolio caught the attention of D’banj’s reality show, Koko Mansion.


She still (2017) does photographic work, but now both behind and in front of the camera.


Further, she has appeared as an actor in the Web TV series “Gidi-culture”; in several films including “Its Her Day” in 2016.


Toni also starred in the movie “King of Boys” as the younger Eniola Salami.


The movie was premiered 21 October 2018.
