
United States President Donald Trump has announced on Thursday that his second test for the novel coronavirus returned negative.
He said he took the test “really out of curiosity to see how quickly it worked,”; adding that the test took around 15 minutes.
Trump was previously tested in mid-March for the virus.
Also on Thursday, the US president said he invoked the Defense Production Act to speed up; the production of ventilators “to save American lives” and to force 3M to make face masks.

The act gives the president wartime powers to force the private sector; to produce supplies for national defence.
The president previously ordered car maker GM to produce ventilators, using the Defense Production Act; the first utilization of the measure during the coronavirus pandemic.
1st News reported that President Donald Trump tested negative for the coronavirus, according to a statement from the White House.
Indeed, Trump took the test on Friday, he said during a Saturday news conference; after coming into recent contact with two individuals who have tested positive for the virus.
“Last night after an in-depth discussion with the President regarding COVID-19 testing; he elected to proceed,” according to the statement about the results released by press secretary Stephanie Grisham with Trump’s permission.
“One week after having dinner with the Brazilian delegation in Mar-a-Lago, the President remains symptom-free. I have been in daily contact with the CDC and White House Coronavirus Task Force; and we are encouraging the implementation of all their best practices for exposure reduction and transmission mitigation.”
Further, Trump said Saturday he had also had his temperature taken Saturday before entering the White House briefing room. The President told reporters that his temperature was normal.
